NATIVE VISIT
A party of about seventy-five natives under the charge of Mr. W. Bird, of Murupara, paid .a visit to Por poro on Saturday. The trip was reciprocal to a similar visit by the natives of Poroporo to Murupara some weeks ago. The new Galatea road has made travelling very convenient and it is noticeable that cars from the Murupara and Te Whaiti districts are coming to Whakatane. The visitors were received in true Maori fashion and in the afternoon two footbail matches and one ladies' hockey match were contested. The results being. Hockey Poroporo ladies 1, Murupara 0. Footbail Juniors. — Poroporo 16, Murupara 3. Seniors. — Poroporo 27, Murupara 6. In the evening a dance was held in the large dining hall at Poroporo. The attendance being in the vicinity of 400.,
