Sydney, September 17. The Pori. Whangarei, which left Sydney on Thursday for New Zealand via Port Stephenq has sufl'ered somo damage to her tailshaft, according to n xnessage received at Newcastle. She is expected to return to Newcast.le or Sydney for repairs. It is understood she will be al>le. to make the journey xmder her own steam. The Port Whangarei (formerly the Marion Sleigh) was recently acquired by Captain Watchlin for the New Zealand trade. Her new owner had her converted from a steamship into an oil vessel.
