FLYING FAMILY

BITTERLY COLD NIGHTS SPENT IN ICE CAVE London, Sept. 15. I Mr. Georgo Hutchison has sent out | a wireless message to the British United Press from Angmagsalik, in j which he says that "in endeavouring ; to pass under bad weather we flew • at an altitude of 50 feet between j icebergs. j "The windshield was covered with ! ice. j "We found we were unable to out1 ride the gale, and therefore descendi ed on a rough sea between icebergs. "The ice dented one pontoon and the crew were quickly drenched. "The anchor would not grip, so we taxied asliore. "The children were not afraid and there was no sign of tears throughout the most hazardous moments. The party huddled together in a cave, I and spent two uncomfortable and bitj terly cold nights until the. last fuel ! was used as a flare, and attracted the j Lord Talbot. "The party earlier had a tantalising experience of hearing messages from the searching ships, to which they were unable to reply, owing to the swamping of the machine damaging the transmitter. "We boarded a lifeboat as a huge iceberg crashed in fragments on our plane." An Angmagsalik message says the Hutchison family will depart for England to-day aboard the Lord Talbot.
