The Government meteorolopist issued the foliowrng weather report and forecast last niaht: — General situation: A moderate cyclone is crossing the northern extremity of the Dominion, whiie a westerly depression has crossed the South island. Forecast: Winds north-easterlies to northerlies at first from Canterbury northward, strong in the far north, elsewhere moderate: a change to south-easterly or southerly advancing from the south and becoming general in "24 hours. , Weather: Dull and in places misty, ge'neral rain probable, with many heavy falls in Nelson and Marlborough. Northward, temperatures becoming cooler. FoIIowing are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, sunshine, and rainfall readings recorded at th6 Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist DepartI ment for the 24 hours ended at 9,30 a.m. yesterday. Barometer 30.165ins. Thermometer (max.) 54.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 50.7deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 46.9deg. Rainfall 0.38deg. Bright Sunshine 0.2hrs.
