EXPLORER'S PLANS FOR ADVENTUROUS FLIGHT

Rec. Sept. 14, 7.0 p.m. New York, Sep. 14. j Mr. Lincoln Ellsworth arrived from Europe. He announced that his plans of a projected flight across the Antarctic continent, have progi'essed so far that he expects to start in the fall of 1933, accompanied by Mr. Bernt Balchen. They will begin from the Ross Sea and fly 2,900 miles over the South Polo to the Weddell Sea. Mr. Ellsworth said that many geologists believe that the Ross Sea and the Weddell Sea cut into the continent, making two islands. "My purpose," he said, "is purely geographical, to determine if there are two islands, or if the Antarctic is only oue- island.
