WATER SUPPLY

BOOSTER PUMP TO BE INSTALLED IN GORGE It is ascertained that the, grant which has been made for the improvement of the Rotorua borough water supply does not embrace the eonstruction of a reservoir, but merely the installation of a pressure, automatic pump as a section of the complete scheme. ! The pumping station will be established in the Hemo Gorge, and will be connected directly with the mains. It is anticipated that the pump will ensure a uniform and satisfactory pressure, and correct the fluetuation which has caused trouble in the past. The pump will be installed as porI tion of a more comprehensive scheme | which entails the construction of a ; reservoir in the gorge. When funds are available for this work, the pump will he used to raise the water to the dam, but in the meantime it will be employed to remedy the low pressure wealcness.
