A FINE LINE
fattened on pumice land wethers from broadlands. early on the market. a very fine example of what can be done with our pumice country was afforded yesterday, when a line of 356 fat crosshred wethers from Mr. E. Earle Yaile's "Broadlands" estate were trucked for Westfield. These sheep, which have been wintering on turnips, have been turned out in splendid condition. Having been shorn early last year, they are full in the wool, and it is no exaggeration to say their fieeces are a real picture; in lengtli, evenness and clean, healthy appearance, they would he hard to heat. The carcase standard is also high «and the line gives most eonvincing proof of what can he done on these lands if the proper methods of farming are followed. It must also he remembered that we have come through a severe winter in which a long succession of frosts have cut feed down to a minimum. It will he interesting to learn how the lin? kills out at the worlcs.
