FEAR OF TROUBLE FROM RECOGNITION OF MANCHOUKUO

Rec. Sept. 13, 11.5 p.m. Shangbai, Sep. 13. Nanlcing official press circles express grave fears of the consequences of the Japanese reeognition of Manchoukuo which is expected to-mor-row. It is believed that it will inevitably cause violent reaction throughout China. Although Chinese authorities are taking every possible precaution, it is feared that the populace. will be driven to violent action, and may get out of control. Developments are also feared in northern China, where it is thoughfc that as soon as the reeognition is accomplished, Japanese troops will commence their long awaited offensive in the Jehol and Shankai-lcwan regions, thereby exerting strong pressure at Chapgchow and Tsientsin.
