rotorua beats thames in fast scoring game On Saturday a Rotorua representative team of basketball players met a Thames representative side in a match at Thames, def eating the home side by 30 goals to 21. Rotorua were early on the attack and gained two goals in quiek succession. After this, play beeame very fast and spectacular with Rotorua holding the advantage. Thames essayed many long shots at goal, but team-work seemed to be missing and Rotorua put more finishing touches to their play. At half-time, the score was, Rotorua 18, Thames 8. On resumption Thames showed improvement and notched three goals before Rotorua scored. There was, however, a great deal of wild passing on both sides. Thames held a slight advantage in this spell, and scored 13 goals to 12 by Rotorua. Mrs. Shearer accompanied the Rotorua team as manager.
