STAKES REDUCED
CANTERBURY CLUB MAKES BIG DECREASE IN PRIZE MQMEY CbristchurcSi, Tuesday. The Canterbury Joclcey Club decided to-day to reduce the stakes for the November meeting' of four days by £1410. The amounts for the New Zealand Cup, the Stewards' Handicap, the Jockey Club Handieap and the Metropolitan Handieap remain the same.. The following are the more important reductions: Welcome Stakes, £500 to . £400, Criterion Handieap, £300 to £250; Dei'by Stakes, £1500 to £800; Fendalton Handieap, £300 to £250; Otaio Plate, £250 to £150; Oalcs Stakes £600 to £400 and the Stoneyhurst Handieap £200 to £150.
