TWO PROSPECTORS FOUND BURIED IN DESERT SAND

Rec. Sept. 6, 5.5 p.m. Cairo, Sept. 5. Described as an Australian miner of Scottish origin wh'o came to Egypt during the war, a prospector named Duffield, was found huried in the Sand with a companion, an Englishman, named Hess, at a desert gold mine 30 miles north of Kusseir. Duffield is believed to have died from natural causes, while Hess had a revolver clasped in his bony hand. Under lease from the Egyptian Government the pair began to prosP'ect in the Attallah desert in 1927. i They were the only white men in 500 | miles of desolate country.
