BRILLIANT RUN

(Press. Assn. —

american girl runner shatters world record

By Telegraph— Copyright).

Rec. Sept. 4, 5.5 p.m. Toronto, Sept. 3. Breaking the world's record, Stella Walsh won the 100 metres dash at the Canadian Nhtional Exhibition track meeting here to-day in 11.4-5 seconds. Hilda Strike, Montreal, was second and Nellie Halstead, England, was third. The record is not likely to he recognised as there was a strong following wind. Ralph Metcalf won the 200 yards dash in 19 8-9seconds, making a new world's record, but the extreme wind will probably prevent it being recognised.
