GOOD YARDING OF CATTLE AND KEEN BIDDING AT MATAMATA Hamilton, Thursday. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report: At Matamata stock sale yesterday a good yarding of all classes of cattle came forward. Beef was penned in larger numbers than usual, and quality eattle showed a sharp rise, quotations being well in advance of Frankton rates. A truck of good quality cows on account of Mr. R. F. Hall, Walton, averaged £6 11s. A good entry of yearling heifers was also !penned and sold under keen competition. Dairy cattle came forward in good numbers with the- majority lacking quality. Backward and inferior sorts were hard to dispose of. Thqre was a medium yarding of store pigs and also a few fats were yarded. Values for all classes were easier. Quotations: — Fat hoggets, 10s to 11s; prime. fat cows, £6 5s to £6 12s; medium, £4 12s 6d to £5 ls; lighter, £3 12s to £4 3s; killable cows, £2 10s to £3 3s; fresh-conditioned cows, 33s to £2 5s; heavy boner cows, 18s to 26s; poorer boners, 6s to 12s; choice quality yearling Jersey heifers, £3 19s to £4 2s; choice quality yearling Jersey Cross heifers, £2 12s to £2 19.s; others, 35s to £2 5s; 2-year Jersey and Jersey Cross heifers, 35s to £2 ls; 2-year Shorthorn heifers, £2 17s; other 2-year Jersey and Jersey Cross heifers, 22s 6d to 30s; sound young cows, 20s to 27s. Dairy cattle: Jersey heifers, £4 10s to £5 10s; Jersey Cross heifers, £4 to £4 15s; backward heifers, £3 to £4; heifers in milk, £3 5s to £3 15s; sound cull eows, £2 10s to £3; othefs, 20s to 35s. Pigs: Baconers, 30s to 35s; heavy porlcers, 24s to 28s; light porkers, 17s to 22s; stores, 14s to 18s 6d; slips, 10s to 14s; weaners, 7s to 10s; sows in pig to £3 10s.
