MAMAKU TENNIS CLUB
GOOD PROSPECTS FOR THE COMING SEASON The annual general meeting of the Mamaku Tennis Club was held on Thursday, August 25, 25 members being present. The following officers were elected, President, Mr F. G. Reed, vice-presidents, Messrs A. Hemmings and C. Hemmings; secretary, Mr. R. C. Turner; treasurer, Mr. W. Atkinson; club capfain, Mr. D. Carron; vicecaptain, Mr. A. Jackson, auditor, Miss F. McCarthy; 'management committee: Messrs F. G. Reed, R. Turner, W. Atkinson, D. Carron, A. Jackson, B. Thorne, K. Lockie. Misses N. Brennan and J. Brennan. Prospects for the season appear to be particularly bright as it is understood the cricket club will not be formed this year and old members in-' tend to again play tennis. The club memhership stands at 40 at present. The balance sheet disclosed a credit balanoe of £6 7/-. It was decided to write to the Bay of Plenty Lawn Tennis Association and enquire the conditions of affiliation, with a view to joining* up.
