WORST EXPERIENCED FOR PAST EIGHT YEARS Melbourne, August 31. Floods have occurred in many parts of the State. Rivers and ereelcs burst their banks, bridges were car- ' ried away, and small services, are disorganised. Worse floods are likely in some areas. Boats are being used in the main streets of Rochester. The worst floods for eight years have occurred in the Maribyrnong River. During a severe thunderstorm at Kallista, five men, members of a relief gang, were struck by lightning. One, Horace Parker (60), was killed instantly, and the four others were sent to hospital suffering from shock and burns.
