Foxton. Tuesday. Foxton is isolated by flood waters expect from the north. The occupants of several farms in Makino and Moutoa districts left their homes for places of greater security this morning. Constable Owens left for Rangiotu where several families are reported marooned in their houses, and he effeeted a rescue by means of a boat. The floods threatened the greater portion of this locality, but the residents are now all safe. Several lorries and cars are stranded in water. The stock losses are not reported great owing to timely warning. The weather is now fine. The river is 16 feet 6 inches above normal at Rangiotu, and the greatest height will probably be reached at nine o'clock. The Foxton-Palmerston North railway line is washed out in several places.
