Auckland, Monday.. , "It is not our desire either to foster or to take advantages of any City V. Country feeling," said the President. of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mr W. J. Jordan, M.P., in reply to the r>e- ■ ported remarks by Mr. A. D. McLeod,. M.P., at Dannevirke. "The contests of the future are more likely to be between the big landed interests of the town and country on the one hand and working farmers and town workers on the other. It is a fact that the' efforts of the past to keep town and country at variance have been reeognised, and that small farmers realise now that their interests and those of the town workers are identical. It is, evident - also that there is a hraach: within the Farmers' Union between 1 the large run-holders and the smaffi farmers."
