ALLEGED BOOKMAKERS ARRESTED IN WELLINGTON

Wellington, Sunday. Arrests carried out by detectives simultaneously (in two Wellington hotels and a tobacconist's shop caused something of a stir in the city on Saturday afternoon. The three men who were arrested, with another arrested earlier in the afternoon, will appear in the Police Court on charges in connection with alleged bookmaking at the New Zealander and Alhambra Hotels. A barman was arrested at the tobacc.onist's shop 'and the occupier was taken in charge, but released on bail.
