Owing to the intimation by the Unemployment Board, that no authority, after August 31, will be given for the free issue of food and clothing to the unemployed, the Waikato Social Welfare League has altered its policy. The executive yesterday decided to make a charge for all goods it supplies, with the exception of clothing that has been given it. The last free issue of meat will be made on Tuesday. Mr. H. Pinfolcl, agreed to communicate with the board to-day, and urge the immediate delivery of the meat. The league decided to operate on a ticket system, tickets to be redeemable at local retailers.
