Teacher Farewelled The O.D.H.S. pupils assembled in the fourth form room on Friday to farewell Miss W. Harding. Mr. Kibblewhite made a brief speech of the good work done by the pupils during the year. Mr. E. Seville then spoke a few words of regret at Miss Harding's departure. On behalf of Form IV., Rodney Sinelair expressed his appreciation of Miss Harding's work in the High School and presented her with a hook. After "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" had been sung, Miss Harding was given three hearty cheers. Teachers Thanked During the morning tea period on Friday, Mr. Kibblewhite (headmaster of the O.D.H.S.) took the opportunity of thanking all teachers for their work done throughout the term and said good-bye to Miss Harding of the permanent staff. He then made a small presentation on behalf of the teachers. Mr. Kibblewhite also said goodbye to two members of the temporary staff, Miss Anderson and Miss A. B. Cave, who have been transferred. Schoolboys on Tour Five boys, D. Bennett, J. Donner, A. Jephson, R. Dick and E. Walker who are representing Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty football team have left Opotiki. Their itinerary includes Tauranga, Combined Thames Valley, at Waihi; Seddon Techncal Memorial College and Mt. Albert Grammar School. They will return on Thursday, September 1.
