DRIVER KILLED AND WOMAN VERY SERIOUSLY HURT

Auckland, Friday. One man was killed, one woman critically injured, and two other persons sustained less serious injuries, when a motor truck capsized after skidding in loose metal on the main PokenoThames Road, about 4 o'clock this afternoon. They were. — Harry Crowther, aged 40 years, farmer of Mangatangi Road, Maramara, who was driving the vehicle, killed instantly. Mrs Tataea, aged 45 years, suffering from concussion and shock, condition very grave. William Thompson, aged 33 years, suffering from concussion, abrasions and shock, injuries not serious. Lena Rhind, aged 16 years, suffering from abrasions and shock, injuries not serious. The vehicle skidded into the loose metal, swinging eompletely round and capsizing. The cab of the truck was smashed, crushing the driver, who is thought to have heen killed instantly. The overturned vehicle was seen shortly after the accident. The ambulance was despatched from Thames, and the injured people admitted to the Thames hospital.
