— By Telegraph — Copyright).
xvec. Aug. ro, 7 p.m. Ottawa, August 17. The meat problem is still unsettled after a day's hard bargaining. Messrs. Bruce and Coates will see the British delegates again to-morrow, when a final decision must he reached. Now that the. conference has settled practically every one of the multifarious problems which confronted it, attention is necessarily focussed on two outstanding subjects — meat and Russian dumping. Australia and New Zealand, standing together, are looking forward to a reasonably satisfactory outcome to-morrow. A certain degree of progress has been made on the Anglo-Canadian efforts to arrive at a formula solving the Russian problem.
