FIRE BRIGADE DANCE

GAY SCENE AT THE MAJESTIC. A very large xrumber were present at the annual danee held by the Rotorua Fire Brigade in the Majestic Ballroom last Weduesday evening. The night was ideal for dancing and the dainty frocks mingling with the streamers and tiny fairy lights created a delightful kaleidoscope of colour. It is becoming more and more evident that old-time daneing is staeling its way hack, and the old-world tunes played hy Mr. Epi Schalfoon and his band were enthusiastically applauded. During the evening the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, presented-various medals won by the firemen throughont the last year, and in the course of his remsjks made many references to the splendid service done to the people of Rotorua hy the brigade. For non-dancers a 50 Otournament was arranged, the winners being Mrs. Mercer and Mr. De Luen. Two Monte Carlos were included in the" programme and were won hy Mrs. Casey and Miss G.
