PROSPECTS OF GOOD FIELDS CONSIDERED VERY BRIGHT

Rec. Aug. 17, 9.10 p.m. Canberra, August 17. A report has been received from Dr. W. D. Woolnough, Commonwealth geologist, who has been making an aerial survey of Australia concerning oil prospects. Dr. Woolnough remarks that he is as certain as it is humanly possible to be, that oil will be found in Australia. He referred to the Fitzroy River in Western Australia as the most promising field. An expedition is now at Carnarvon, Western Australia.
