Brisbane, August 17. The Parliament of Queensland was opened hy the Governor, Sir Leslie Wilson, who, in the course of a lengthy speech, stated that the Premier's Plan, while successful in effecting a reduction in the cost of Government, was lacking in the measures necessary to restore industry and commerce hy reviving the purchasing power of the community. The Government's revival policy will be continued. Referring to the sugar industry, his Excelleney said: "The attitude recently adopted by the Federal Government, and the pressure being exereised on sugar producers with' a view to securing a revision of the agreement with the Queensland Government was causing grave concern.
