finality reached WESLEY ANS, METHODISTS AND LUTHERANS TO BECOME ONE BODY NINETEEN YEARS' WORK

Rec. Aug. 16, 8.0 p.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Wesleyan, Lutheran and -Methodist churches are to become a separate corporate ■ body at Albert Hall on September 20, when in the prcsence of the Duke and Duchess of York, and probably the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Lang, and the Bishop of London, Dr. A. F. Winnington Ingram, the three branchcs of the church will be formally united. The three existing bodies will mount the platform with the Rev. John Scott Lidgett, the newly elected president of the whole Methodist 'Church, all signing the bond of union. The ceremony marks the end of 19 years' worlc. It applies only to Great Britain, but will have an im.portant infiuence on Methodism in other countries.
