| The Farmers' Co-operative AucI tioneering Company, Limited, report | having held their Tirau stock sale on ; Thursday, August 11, when an average number of fat and store cattle came forward, but extra large numbers of dairy cattle, sheep and pigs. There were no heavy, fat cows yarded, but competition was good on all killable cows. Young store cows were also in demand, as were good quality dairy cows and heifers. All the pigs yarded were sold under good competition and late rates were well maintained. Competition was not so keen on the siore ewes, but all lots offered i were sold at the hammer. Quotations : — Fat cows, £3 to.£3/17/6; light, fat cows and heifers, 38/- to £2/14/-; young Jersey cows and heifers (stores), 22/3 to £2/2/-; other store cows , 15/- to 25/-; boner cows, 7/- to 12/6; forward conditioned grown steers, £2/10/- to £2/15/-; yearling heifers, 25/- to 35/-; smaller yearling heifers (mixed colours), 7/- to 15/-; choice Jersey heifers, close to piofit, £7 to £8; good Jersey heifers close to proftt £5/10/- to £6/15/-; other Jersey and Jersey-cross heifers, close to profit, £4/5/- to £5; baclcward heifers, £2 to £3/10/-; best dairy cows, close to profit, £5 to £7; ; other cows, £2 to £3/15/-. Two ' marked heifers sold on account of - Mr. R. Pevreal and purchased by Mr. E. A. McCowan realised £10/5/each. i Sheep: Fat hoggets, 9/6 to 10/7; fat ewes, 9/-; good store ewes, 4/- to 5/2; older store ewes, 2/6 to 3/-. Pigs: Store pigs, 15/6 to 20/6; slips, 11/6 to 16/-; good weaners, 10/- to 12/6; smaller weaners, 4/6 to 7/6; Tam.-cross sows in pig, £3 5/-; Beik. sow in pigs, £3/5/-.
