POINT-TO-POINT MEET ARRANGEMENTS FOR ANNUAL GATHERING ON ARAWA PARK GOOD SPORT PROVIDED The sub-committee of the Rotorua snd Bay of Pienty Hunt Club which was set up to consider the proposeu point-to-point meeting on September ; 21, has drawn up a provisional programme as follows: — Heavyweight Steeplechase. Minimum, 12st 71bs; distance about 21 miles. First prize challenge and miniature cup; second prize, trophy. Hunter's Trial Steeplechase. Minimum weight 11st 71bs; distance about 21 miles. (For horses that have never won a race other than a poinc-to-point ftecplechase. First prize, trophy; second prize, trophy. Ladies' Steeplechase. Lady riders only. (Open weights) ; distance about 2 miles. First prize, challenge and miniature bowl; second prize, trophy. Open Hunter s; Steeplechase. Minimum weight 11st 71bs; distance about 3 miles. (Open to any qualified hunter owned by a member of any registered hunt. club, on or before August 1, 1932). First prize, trophy; second prize, trophy. Lightweight Steeplechase. Mini- , mum wright lOst 71bs; distance about 21 miles. First prize, challenge and ■ miniature cup; second prize, trophy. September Juvenile Handicap ' (open weights) ; distance about 5 furlongs. For ponies 14.2 and under. Open to juvenile riders only (14 years and under). First prize, trophy; second piize, trophy. No professional riders will be allowed ro enter. The foregoing events will be interspersed by ring ever.ts, vlz., best men's hunter over jumps,, hunting style ; lady's hunter, over " jumps, hunting style; maiden hunter, eper. to both sexes, over jumps, hunt- ! ing style. , •On the motion of Dr. H. Bertram, it was decided that challenge cups be provided for class C, . (maiden hunter), the winner to hold the cui for a year and to have the winning performance engraved thereon. A miniature replica to also be presented 1 to the winner. Prizes for classes A and B (men\ and ladies' hunters) will be allocatec when trophies are forthcoming. Offers of trophies were receivet" with thanks from Captain Stanier. Dr. Bertram, R.M. Transport Co., aa*. the "Morning Post." It was lefe to Mr. Giesen to repor. upon the possibility of getting a point-to-point challenge cup. Officials were appointed as fol- ' lows: — Judge (associated with Mi Brown), Mr. R. Hannon; clerk o: course, Mr. F. Smith; paddock steward, Mr. L. C. Ryan; additional fia| steward. Mr. A. V. P. Ford. witi the addition of last year's officers. Messrs. Giesen, Meredith, McConnell, Clarke, Parlane, Managh, Mar- , tin and Smith were appointed a workr committee and the Master (Dr. Bertram) Messrs. Meredith, Giesen and •' the secretary -were constituted ar emergency committee. The emergency committee was lef* to place details before the club anc obtain formal acceptance of the pioposals.
