CANADIAN PREFERENCES

Rec. Aug. 15, 7.15 p.m. OTTAWA, Monday. A further authoritative diselosure ^regarding the Anglo-Canadian negotiations gives the f ollowing details of the offer Great Britain has now made to Mr. R. B. Bennett: (1) Continuation of the present preferences. (2) A preference on wheat of threepence a bushel. (3) Preferences on lumber totalling 20 per cent with an assurance that upon Canadian complaints of Russian dumping, the British Government will investigate. These preferences are what Canada asked for. In other respects the offer does not meet the Canadian requirements.
