: Share-milking Contracts ! The share-milking sect.ion of the j Government small farm plan is be- | coming popular in the Opotiki dis- ; trict, and it is reported that contracts j have already . been let and building j commenced on some sheds and cot- ; tages. j Jazz Club Meets The Opotiki Jazz Club held its | usual dance in the Farmer's social i 100ms, on Thursday night. The pop- : ular Semla orchestra supplied the i music and an extra was played by j Miss J. Downey. Supper was proi vided. The lady members present i were : — Misses B. Short, J. Kirlcbride, i L. Bennett, M. Holloway, P. IIolloj way, M. Birkmyer, Z. Gordon, J. j Todd, C. Payne, F. Sydenham, K. j Garvey, R. Bonner L. Ellis, Farrelly, j and Mrs. E. McKay. Golf Husbands Golfing among the ladies in Opotiki is on the increase. Whether this will prove popular amongst those husbands who are not golfers themselves, appears somewhat doubtful if one can judge by a remark made by one nongo'fing husband recently. It was: "I am siclc of these golf dinners. Its been tinned fish, tinned fish, tinned fish, every night for the last three weelcs." It is suggested that non-golf-ing husbands should read: "How.to Play Good Golf," by McCormick which is obtainable from Mr. W. F. Cresswell, Church Street, Opotiki. They might as well have something for their tinned fish.
