BOTH ISLANDS SHIYER UNDER COLDEST SNAP OF YEAR A MANTLE OF WHITE Reports from all parts of the Dominion indicate that both islands yesterday experienced one of the coldest snaps of the present winter. Falls of snow are reported generally, in some cases the heaviest lexperienced for a number of years. Rotorua did not escape, and although the town. had only a very light sprinklixtg early yesterday morning, the higher levels in all parts of the distr'ict have experienced falls of varying severity. Traffic services generaliy, however, have not been disorganised although the South Island ferry steamer on Thursday night had a very rough passagie. Last night was again very cold with heavy frosts.
