BOY CRICKETER HITS TRAIN
SCHOOL PROUD OF FEAT. While Ashy-de-la-Zouch (Leicester- , shire) Grammar School boys were practising at cricket on a ground be- ' side the L.M.S. railway line, one of j them, C. Apenor, made a fine drive j of 70 yards to leg, and the ball went | through a window in a passing pas- ! senger train. The railway company, j apparently mistaking the. incident for ! a boyish prank, wrote to the school asking for the names of the boys who had been playing. ilt is under- • stood that the reply was that the ' school would willingly pay for the 1 damage to the carriage window, but that the drive was not regarded as a blot on the school's escutcheon.
