MOTU ROAD.
The A.A.A. patrol from Gisborne, who reached Opotiki late on Mondayevening, reports that the road over the hills between Motu and Opotiki is in very good order, although the flat stretch between Matawai 'and Motu is very rough and full of pot holes.
