RACE OF SUPER-CATS
TRAINED TO KILL ONLY FEMALE RATS. Giant cats, bred in Le Havre, to rid the world of rats, are making excellent progress in a training "school" maintained on a 20-ton yawl by a Scotsman named Mr. Ronald Bremner, states the British United Press. Mr. Bremner is assisting Dr. Jean Loir, the famous French scientist, "who has long been working on the ] theory that "super-cats" can be bred. Having learned the "A.B.C.'5' of rat-killing, the cats are now being trained to kill only female rats and , to leave the male rats alone. It is hoped in this way that th'e extermi- j nation of the rat pest will be speeded j up. Orders have been received from all over France for super-cats." M. Herriot, Mayor of Lyons, recentljy ' ordered the purchase of six of them . to be used against the rats of Lyons. |
