Rec. August 1, 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. , The New Zealand hoclcey team's first fixture in Sydney was a match against ' the Metropolitan team. The game was played in beautiful weather and ended in a draw, four goals each. The visitors' forwards displayed a brilliant combination, enabling the first score. Metropolitan then took a hand and attaclced, but excellent de- | fence held them at bay, until nearly i half time when tbey scored twice raj pidly, the score then being two all. The Metropolitan forwards showed : better- stick work after the interval, i but again found the New Zealand dej fence very solid. Both sides scored ; again, the New Zealanders netting a I penalty. !
