Mrs. A. E. Ivar (elder daughter of Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P.) writes from Adelaide : "Have you read anything about the plague of mice in South Australia? Most of the farmers are not sowing their wheat for the present. Those who did put in their seed had the grain taken hy the mice as soon as it went into the ground. A truck which arrived at Ceduna with wheat from one farm had on board about 17,000 mice. At another farm a man poisoned 34,000 in one night."
