AMSTERDAM SKYSCRAPER
TWELVE STOREYS HIGR. The Dutch have built their first "skyscraper" in one of the new resiiential quarters of Amsterdam. If is an apartment house, 12 storeys iffgh, which towers some six storeys ibove the ljighest apartment dwellings previously built in Holland. Because of the swamps on which the svhole city of Amsterdam is built, the Dutch "skyscraper" caused the build3i's more trouble than the Empire State Building in New York did to th American engineers. Hollanders are telling each other how on a clear day one can see as far as Utrecht, a distance of some 15 miles, from the top of the building.
