SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT
KERERU HUNE WILL NGT DRIVE FOR TWO YEARS. PROHIBITION QRDEE ISSUED. A fine of £10, the issue cf a prohition order, and debarment from obtaining a driver's license for tVvO years was the decision oi' the mugistrate, Mr. S. L Paterson, S.M., in the ease oi Kereru Hune, a Whakatane Maori who yesterday morning faeed a charge of intoxieation whilst in eharge of a ear and also one of driving a ear without a license. The case arose oufc of -a set of eircumstanees detailed in the "Morning Post" of yesterday, where Ihe defendant was left in a car and drove it away whilst his companions were paying a visit to an inmate of Iving George V. Hos-pital. During his career he rau into and knockzd down a stone p'llar at Mr. P. B. K. McArthur's residence in Arawa Street. Constable Kelly, for the police, detailed the circumstanees and said that the damagi amounted to £1 15s. Defendant had expressed his willmgness to take out a prohibition order against himself.
