BOMBAY DEVIATION
RECENT REGULATIONS. The Main Highways Board has made special by-laws to cover traffic on the Bombay Ilills, near Auckland. This deviation has been under construction for several years, and it cuts out the steep grades of the Razorback Hills. As a clay formation the route has been open for summer traffic during the last 3 or 4 years, and it has proved a rather tempting speedway after dry spells. Metal ha? be m snreacl lately and the road was opcned several weeks ago. The by-laws just gazetted fix a maximum speed limit of 30 miles an hour, and vehicles in excess of 4£ tons are limited to 20 miles air hour.
