CONVICTION AT AUCKLAND

AUCKLAND, Saturday. The sale of a copy of the Red Worker to a detective- was responsible for the appearance of Walter Percy Simmonds, a middle-aged man, in the Police Court yesterday. He pleaded guilty when charged with selling to Detective Nalder a document expressing a seditious intention, "Accused is not responsihle for the statements in the paper, but it is an offence to distribute literature of this type," said the Magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, in convicting accused and ordering* him to pay £1 11s 6d costs. — - - r rr
