MATAMATA SALE.
The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Matamata stock sale yesterday only a few pens of hoggets came forward, which sold at late rates. Cattle. — The usual full yarding came forward, with slightly less beef, which' was in keen demand, prices being fully up to Frankton rates. Frssh conditioned cows were in good demand. Boner cattle showed no improvement. A large yarding of dairy cattle met with good comr^etition throughout. The advertised herd of Shorthorn cows on account of Messrs. Costall Bros., averaged £5/16/-. Pigs. — No fat pigs were yarded, but a full yarding of stores came forward and sold at late prices. Quotations.— Hoggets, 8/6 to 11/-. Prime fat heifers, £5 to £5/5-/-; medium fat cows, £3/16/- to £4/2/-; lighter fat cows, £2/11/- to £3/9/-; killable cows, 30/- to 38/-; fresh conditioned cows/ 19/- to 27/-; boner cows, 5/- to 14/-; small good coloured Jersey yearling heifers, 25/- to 29/-; inferior sorts, 15/- to 20/-; two-year Jersey empty heifers, 31/- to £2/1/-. two-year Jersey cross empty heifers, 20/- to 25/-. Dairy Cattle. — Best Shorthorn cows, close to profit, £5/10/- to £6/10/-; others close to profit, £3/15/- to £5/10/-; poor and backward cows, 30/to £3; good Jersey heifers in milk, £5/5/- to £6/10/-; other heifers in milk, £3/5/ - to £3/15/-; Jersey heifers close to profit, £5/5/- to £6/10/-; Ayrshire heifers close to profit £5/15/-; other Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, backward, £2/15/- to £4. Pige. — Porkers 20/- to £1/5/-; stores, 14/- to £1; slips, 8/- to 13/6; good weaners, 10/- to 14/-; smaller weaners, 6/6 to.9/6.
