PRESENTATION MADE ST. MICHAEL'S PARISHIONERS BID SARATY FAMILY GODSPEED. RESIDENTS FAREWELLED Presenting Mr. and Mrs. Saraty with a dinner waggon, the gift of their fellow parishioners, the Rev. Father O'Callaghan voiced the regret of the congregation of St. Michael's Church' at their departure for Hastings, at ths same time wishing them Godspeed and a prosperous future. St. Michael's schoolroom was well filled on Tuesday evening, when this function took place, friends of Mr and Mrs. Saraty gathering from all parts of the district to bid them farewell, and proceedings were of a very cordial nature. Tho^e-vemng~passed pleasantly with the aid of a fine musichl- pro-* gramme, to which contributions were made by Mesdames Fleming and Py. man, (violiri and piano duet), songs by Mesdames Jones, Pyman, and Pa], liser, and by Mr. Jones and Mr. Prank Jones. Mr. F. Newmarch delighted the company with a recitation, and the Rev. Father Hoogveldt enthralled his audience by songs in German and Dutch. In making the presentation, the Rev. Father O'Callaghan referred to the popularity of the departing couple and to the great assistance they had rendered if the work of the parish, assuring them that th'ough they were leaving Rotorua, they would not ha forgotten. Mr. Saraty feelingly replied, thanking the donors for their gift and expressing regret at his departure. A feature of the evening was the excellent supper provided hy the ladies' committtee, which proved very popular. Mr. and Mrs. Saraty will take up their residenee in Hastings shortly, where Mr. Saraty is going into business. " * ■
