EAST COAST LINE

FARMERS' UNION PROTEST. The following resolution was carried at a meeting of the Bay of Plenty Farmers' Union at Taneatua on Monday night: "This meeting of the Bay of Plenty Farmers' Union wishes to patronise the railway to the fullest extent, but we deplore the action of the Railway Board in refusing to enter into any conciliatory discussion re the anomalies existing which at present dster a portion of a community from rendering its fullest support. We would suggest that a deputation of representatives of the 'commun'ty be received by the Railv;ay Board for a full discussion on the question of supporting the line."
