BUTTER EXPORTS

(Press. Assn.

CAN ADA AND NEW ZEALAND

— By Telegraph— Copyright).

OTTAWA, Thursday. Canada is likely to assume a more or less neutral role in regard to the New Zealand butter quota, according to Mr. William Goodfellow, the New Zealand director of the dairy board on his arrival at Yancouver on Thursday, with' the delegates for the coming Imperial Economic Conference. Canada exports butter and cheese to Great Britain, and Canadian cheese obtains' a premium over all other cheese imported into the United Kingdom. On the other hand, butter saies are at a discount, compared with New Zealand and other countries. Accordingly the tendency of the Agriculture Department here is to encourage the production of cheese and limit the production of butter for domestic jpurposes.
