SOCIAL EVENTS
WAIKATO MOUNTED RIFLES MILITARY BALL AT PAENGAROA. PAENGAROA, Thursday. The first ball of the season ,of the "A" squadron of the Waikato Mounted Rifles was held in the Paengaroa hall on Wednesday night. Great interest and enthusiasm was shown in the event whieh proved an out-stand-ing success both from a social and financial standpoint. The hall was gaily decorated with flags, while lances, sabres and trophies of the squadron were artistically arranged around the room. The colourful frocking of the ladies mingling with the uniforms of the officers and men made a very pleasant spectacle. Among those present were: Mesdarnes C. Cawte (navy crepe de chine), T.
