"WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Marine Department has received advice that a launch bonnd for Napier, three miles off Porangahau, about 60 miles south from Cape Kidnappers, appears to have engine trouble, hut in view of its distanee from land, this could not be definitely ascertained. The launch' may be the Advance, a two-masted launch, 50 feet long, which left Napier on July 5 for Wanganui with three men aboard, but which did not arrive at its destination. Fears were felt for its safety, and a search of the eoast hy aeroplane has been made. The launch has not yet been reported at Napier.
