ARREST OF M1NER SOLVES A GREYMOUTH MYSTERY

CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. A Greymouth resident, Samuel Rothera, who mysteriously disappeared nearly two years ago^ was brought before the Police Court at Reefton to-day and was remanded to appear at Greymouth on Monday. A charge was laid following the issne of a warrant by his wife alleging failure to provide maintenance. On August 1, 1930, Rothera left his home in Greymouth ostensibly to go to Dobson to collect wages due to him for his work there as a miner. He did not arrive and was later posted as missing, it being thought he had been drowned in the Grey River. Rothera had lived' during recent months in the Inangahua district. When he applied at the Owen Colliery for work the manager, Mr. Blackburn, recognised him iand informed Rothera's brother.
