GIFT AFTERNOON
LADIES OF ST. MICHAEL'S. On Satnrday the ladies of St. Michael's Church gave a most enjoyable gift afternoon to Miss Madeline Glass, who is leaving Rotorua to he married. The hall was prettily decorated in white and gold, and the many handsome and useful gifts .were exhibited. The Rev. Father Highfield pre- ; sented Miss Glass with a pair of beautiful Rosary heads' and conVeyed the very sincerd go6d Wishes to the guest of the afternoon. ' An interesting competition was won by Mrs: F. L. JBark, first; Miss M. Fitzgerald, second. i The musical programme was mnch s appreciated hy the "visitof s. Mrs. Jones sang and played, Mrs. Flem- . ming contributed violin solos, Mrs. Pieman a song, and Miss Wilson a piano solo. Mrs. Richards thanked the. ladies for 'their kindness on behalf of Miss Glass, and the singing of "For She's a Jolly Good Fellow," and "Auld Lang Syne," brought a very pleasant afternoon to a close.
