WOMEN'S CLUB AFTERNOON. A very enjoyable reading was held at the home of Mrs. C. G. Ilodgson, Arawa Street, on Wednesday afternoon. John DrinkWater's' play, "A Bird in Iland" was- read, "and proved delightful reading throughout. . ■ • Miss Joan Hodgson received her guests in a frock of lime green crepe de chine and Mrs. Hodgson ' was in |)lack georgette ahd lace. The dfawing room was artistically arranged with bowls of jonquils and violets. The readers present w-ere: Mrs. B, M. Greene, Mrs. H. Davis, Mrs. S; Wallis, Mrs. H. Bertram, Mrs. E. Johnson, Miss M.
