SYDNEY, Wednesday. Surpassing the intensity of the past few days the cyclonic disturbance continued yesterday and last night, resulting in further disorganisation of shipping arid additional rains in the coastal districts, where serious flooding is feared. The town of Forster was entirely cout off when two small rivers overflowed their banks. Because of hump ing at the jetty, at Coff's Harbour, the Gabriella, which was loading* for New Zealand via Newcastle, was compelled to put to sea. It is believed to be sheltering somewhere along the coast. Throughout the day no steamer was able to leave Newcastle, with huge seas making the bar dangerous. The steamer Raimiro rode out a 60-mile gale off Poi*t Hunter. By night the weather had moderated, but the bar is still too bad for ships to enter. Despite mountainous seas the Manly ferry service was continued. The tanker Br:tish Lady v/ould not risk entering port during the gale. SIiq was last seen heading south.
